Two men have been arrested in a shooting last week on Robinson Avenue in Medford that wounded a 21-year-old man, police said Thursday.

Orlando Barros Jr., 18, of Medford, and Darius Tynerleath, 20, of Holbrook, were arraigned Wednesday in Central Islip, each on a charge of second-degree assault, Suffolk County police said. Tynerleath also was charged with marijuana possession, police said.

Suffolk County Court Judge Jennifer A. Henry ordered Barros held on $50,000 bond or bail and ordered Tynerleath held on $25,000 bond or bail, according to online court records. Both men posted bond and were released from custody Wednesday. They are due back in court Monday.

An unspecified dispute between the victim and the suspects began behind a gas station on Route 112 and ended with the shooting about 9:50 p.m. Friday outside, on Robinson Avenue, police said.

The victim was treated at Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue. He and the suspects were known to each other, police said.

Following an investigation, Tynerleath was arrested Tuesday in Farmingville. Barros surrendered the next day at the Sixth Precinct, police said.

Neither man could be reached for comment Thursday. A telephone listed in the Barros family name was not answered, and a telephone number listed for the Tynerleath family was disconnected. Attorneys for the men could not be reached.
