Suffolk County police are investigating the Saturday night shooting in Brentwood of two unidentified males -- one of the victims was also wounded when he was struck with a machete, officials said.

Police said the incident occurred at 11:57 p.m. near the intersection of Stein Drive and Jensen Avenue.

Both victims were transported by Brentwood Legion Ambulance to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore where they are listed in serious condition.

Police said it was not yet known what led to the attack and how many suspects were involved. No further details were immediately available about the victims.
