Two Suffolk men arrested in connection with graffiti
Two Suffolk County men who went by the names "Robo" and "Keanu" were arrested Wednesday and charged with making graffiti for leaving their tags on road and railway overpasses, buildings and road signs, police said.
The two men, Taylor S. Schotter, 25, of Selden, and Ryan Atkinson, 25, of Ronkonkoma, met at a graffiti website and coordinated their efforts online, police said. Schotter used "Robo" and Atkinson went by "Keanu," police said.
The Sixth Precinct's Crime Section officers conducted the investigation after noticing a proliferation of the so-called tags, and an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers helped lead police to the two men.
Police released Schotter, who faces a court date in November. Atkinson faces seven counts of making graffiti and was arraigned Thursday in First District Court in Central Islip. He is being held at Riverhead Correctional Facility, police said.
