A female pedestrian was struck and seriously injured Wednesday while crossing a Lindenhurst roadway, Suffolk police said.

Fareh Hussain, 51, of Lindenhurst, was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, where she was listed in critical but stable condition, police said.

Hussain was crossing West Hoffman Avenue near New York Avenue at 5:45 p.m., police said, when she was struck by a 2004 Ford van.

Michael Griffin, 50, of Brookside Avenue, Wantagh, and his passenger, Thomas Caputo, 36, of Massapequa Park, were not injured, police said.

Police said the investigation is continuing and the van was impounded for a safety check.
