W. Babylon man arrested on Sandy curfew law violation
A West Babylon man was arrested early Tuesday on a state curfew law violation, Suffolk County police said.
Robert Ernst, 54, was walking near Little East Neck Road just south of Montauk in Babylon about 4:45 a.m., a violation of the state curfew law established last week in the wake of superstorm Sandy.
The law prohibits people from being out "from dusk until dawn" south of Montauk Highway, in Babylon and Lindenhurst villages, police said. The violation is a misdemeanor.
Ernst was released on bail and will be arraigned at a later date.
