A woman died and a man was seriously injured in a crash in Wading River Saturday night, Riverhead police said.

Police and ambulance crews responded about 10:20 p.m. to the scene on Wading River Manor Road, north of Grumman Boulevard. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. 

The man was transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead for treatment of serious injures, police said.

Neither of the victims were identified by police.

An investigation was ongoing into the cause of the crash, said police, who provided no further information.
