Riverhead Town police said they are investigating a fire at a home Friday night in Wading River.

No injuries were reported, police said, but two dogs were removed from the fire and turned over to animal control officials. Police said no one was home at the time of the fire.

Just after 11 p.m., Riverhead police and Wading River firefighters responded to the house fire on Overlook Drive in Wading River, police said. After firefighters extinguished the fire, detectives from Riverhead Town Police responded to the scene. After an initial investigation, Riverhead police said they requested assistance from the Suffolk County police Arson Squad.

Anyone with information about the fire was asked to call the Riverhead Detective Division at 631-727-4500, ext. 321.
