Repairs have been completed on a Smithtown street damaged by a water main break earlier this week, the Suffolk County Water Authority said Friday.

Water authority crews finished repaving Mount Pleasant Road on Thursday, said spokesman Tim Motz. The road had closed Tuesday morning after a portion of it collapsed and swallowed a sport utility vehicle. No one was injured, Suffolk police said.

Water service was restored to 26 customers about seven hours after the 12-inch pipe burst at about 3:30 a.m. Tuesday. The cause of the break was not known, Motz said.
