Water main break shuts Montauk Hwy. in Copiague

A water main break has closed Montauk Highway in Copiague on Tuesday morning, Suffolk County police said.

The road is closed between William Street and Grant Avenue.

Police said the main broke at about 12:30 a.m. and that water is causing the road to collapse.

Emergency repair crews are on scene. Police said it is not clear how long the road will remain closed for repairs.
