The U.S. Coast Guard found two personal watercraft users reported to be in trouble in Great South Bay Tuesday morning and took one to a hospital as a precaution, officials said.

Suffolk County police and a Coast Guard spokesman said a 911 call reported the watercraft users in trouble near a North Channel buoy at 10:44 a.m.

A Coast Guard helicopter spotted the two watercraft riders shortly thereafter. An official said one of the watercraft was partially submerged.

Police reported the helicopter en route to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip at 11:02 a.m. The condition of the watercraft user was not immediately known, but a Coast Guard official said the transport was precautionary.
