Two Suffolk County men face weapons and drug charges after being stopped for a vehicle equipment violation Friday morning in Hampton Bays, Southampton Town police said.

Andre Walker, 20, of Riverside, was driving a 1996 Chrysler when police stopped him for a lighting violation at around 4:35 a.m. on Springville and Good Ground roads, according to a release from the department.

Police said Walker had a hand gun and marijuana in his possession, while his passenger, Justin T. Davis, 22, of Riverhead, had cocaine and marijuana.

Walker is charged with fourth-degree possession of a weapon and unlawful possession of marijuana. Davis is charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana,

Both defendants were taken to Southampton Town Police Headquarters and held for arraignment.
