A mobile crane caught fire early Tuesday morning on the Long Island Expressway in South Manor, briefly closing all westbound lanes between Exits 69 and 68, officials said.

The incident occurred at about 7 a.m., the Suffolk County Sheriff's Office said. One lane was reopened at 7:20 a.m.

The New York State Department of Transportation reported that one lane was still closed as of 10:10 a.m., and all lanes had reopened by about 11:15 a.m.

Fire officials said volunteers from the Ridge Fire Department handled the call.

Officials said no one was injured in the incident.

Exit 69 is Wading River Road, and Exit 68 is for the William Floyd Parkway.
