Westbound Route 109 in West Babylon closed after crash, cops say
Westbound Route 109 in West Babylon remained closed Friday night as PSEG Long Island crews work to repair power lines pulled down in a single-vehicle crash.
Both directions of the roadway near the Sunrise Highway overpass were closed starting about 2 a.m., according to Suffolk County police.
As crews worked on the damaged pole and lines, eastbound lanes reopened at 6:45 a.m. and the westbound lanes remained closed as of 8:15 p.m.
A police spokeswoman said she had no information regarding injuries.
