A woman was killed in a car crash in Brookhaven on Saturday, and police have charged her daughter with reckless driving.

The daughter, Jessica Pistolese, 38, of Mastic, was driving a 2004 Chevy Malibu west on Montauk Highway about 4 p.m. when her vehicle struck a 2011 Chrysler 300, Suffolk police said.

Her mother, Judith Rivera, 71, of East Patchogue, was riding in the Malibu's front passenger seat, police said.

The driver of the Chrysler was traveling south on Horseblock Road and was attempting to make a left onto Montauk Highway when the Chevy Malibu struck her car.

Pistolese and the Chrysler's driver, Aide Marichal, 51, of Mastic, were sent to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue, police said. They were treated and released, police said.

Pistolese was charged with reckless driving and was released on bail and given a desk appearance ticket, police said.

She is scheduled to be arraigned Nov. 4, police said. The Vehicular Crimes Unit detectives are investigating, police added.
