Police have arrested a Huntington woman on charges she robbed two taxi cabdrivers after slashing them with a knife.

Amy Kowalewski of 5 Delamere St. was charged with two counts of robbery and was set to be arraigned Tuesday. Both incidents occurred in Huntington.

Police say the suspect called for a cab and was picked up Tuesday at 12:05 a.m. by Orange and White Taxi. Police say she slashed the driver in the neck and hands with a kitchen knife before fleeing with his cash.

Kowalewski, 26, was arrested an hour later. The driver was treated for his injuries.

Police say Kowalewski was suspected in a similar robbery of a cabdriver in Huntington on Sunday.

It was not immediately clear whether she had a lawyer.
