Suffolk County SPCA detectives tracked down a Flanders woman and charged her with three counts of animal cruelty in an April incident, the animal protection group said Wednesday.

Marie Guerrera, 46, owner of Abess Farms in Calverton, was ticketed on the charges Tuesday, after the SPCA found her at an address on Flanders Road, the SPCA said in a news release.

SPCA Chief Roy Gross said his detectives had been looking for Guerrera since April 29, when about two dozen animals at her farm were removed because of neglect. Gross said Guerrera has lived at three different addresses since April.

The group has found foster homes for most of the animals, the release said. The charges are related to "not caring for two horses and a Palomino pony," according to the group.

Guerrera is scheduled to appear at Southampton Town Court on July 27.
