Woman rescued after she drives into Smithtown pond, cops say

Two bystanders helped rescue a woman from the car she drove into a Smithtown pond Sunday, police said.
A 60-year-old woman drove a 2000 Toyota Camry into Millers Pond off Maple Avenue around 5:50 p.m., Suffolk County police said.
The rescuers helped pull her from the vehicle, police said. She was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for evaluation.
