Police have identified the pedestrian killed in a motor vehicle crash in Selden as Susan Jacob, 47, of Selden.

Kelly Hauser, 21, of Coram, was named as the driver of the 1999 Jeep Suburban that struck Jacob. She has not been charged. The Sixth Squad continues to seek witnesses and the investigation is continuing.

Jacob was struck Wednesday at 10:38 p.m. just east of College Road as she attempted to cross Middle Country Road in Selden, headed north, police said.

Volunteers from the Selden Fire Department Rescue ambulance took the woman to Stony Brook University Medical Center, where she died at 11:04 p.m., police said. The vehicle involved in the crash was impounded for a safety check, police said.

The investigation is continuing.
