Huntington firefighters helped free a woman trapped in her car after it rolled over and came to rest on its roof Sunday, officials said.

About 2 p.m. Sunday, the Huntington Fire Department received a call regarding the accident, which occurred after the woman lost control of her Honda sedan traveling east on Woodhull Road near Park Avenue, said Huntington Fire Chief Ken Cochrane.

"She had her seat belt on and was suspended upside down," Cochrane said.

The woman, who suffered some bumps and bruises, was found conscious and was taken to Huntington Hospital in stable condition, Cochrane said.

There were no other passengers or cars involved in the accident, Cochrane said, adding that Suffolk police were investigating the cause of the rollover.
