A 52-year-old woman was seriously injured when Suffolk County police said she was struck by a car while crossing Connetquot Avenue Sunday night in North Great River.

The victim, identified by police as Jacquelyn Hannan, of Great River, was taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore with serious injuries, police said. The driver, Dominick Padurano, 70, of Bohemia, also was taken to Southside.

Police said he was treated and released.

Police said Hannan was crossing Connetquot Avenue at Cedarhurst Street when she was struck by the northbound 2014 Hyundai Sonata driven by Padurano at 8:05 p.m.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check.

The investigation is continuing and anyone with information is being asked to call the Third Squad at 631-854-8352.
