Woman hospitalized after crashing car into tree

A Cutchogue motorist was hospitalized after she apparently lost consciousness and crashed her Jeep into a tree in Southold, police said.
Ionie Wright, 54, was airlifted to Stony Brook University Medical Center by a Suffolk County police helicopter after the accident at 7:24 a.m. Friday on Route 25, just west of Arshamomaque Avenue, Southold Town police said.
A hospital spokeswoman said Wright was being treated Friday and her condition was not immediately known.
