Woman hurt after crashing into police car

A woman was injured after she crashed into a police car in Greenlawn, led officers on a short pursuit and then crashed again on Jericho Turnpike in Huntington Station early Friday morning, Suffolk County police said.
The Suffolk police officer whose patrol car was struck was not injured, police said.
The woman, Jessica Schifano, 25, of Greenlawn, was transported to Huntington Hospital with minor injuries.
Police said charges are pending in the incident.
The second accident closed Jericho Turnpike for about three hours between New York Avenue and Homecrest Avenue for investigation. New York Avenue also was closed south of Jericho, between Albany Street and East 25th Street.
Both roads were reopened just before 6:30 a.m.
Police said Schifano, driving a red 2010 Honda, crashed into a marked police cruiser on Greenlawn Road at Tilden Lane at 3:03 a.m. and then led officers on a pursuit that ended when she crashed into a utility pole on Jericho Turnpike.
The patrol car struck by Schifano suffered minor damage, police said.
