Woman hurt in Water Mill shed fire
A shed fire Thursday at a Water Mill home left one woman injured, a fire official said.
The woodshed on Water Mill Towd Road caught fire at about 12:15 p.m., said Southampton Fire Chief Rodney Pierson.
A woman who called in the fire was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of minor burns and smoke inhalation, Pierson said. He said the injuries were minor. He did not have an update on her condition.
There were no other injuries.
Pierson said the fire destroyed the shed, a structure about 15 by 20 feet.
"We were on the scene in four minutes, and the fire was under control in about a half-hour," Pierson said.
He said the Sag Harbor and North Sea fire departments also responded.
The fire is under investigation by Southampton Town fire marshal.
