A woman in Dix Hills suffered minor injuries Monday when the Nissan Maxima she had just gotten out of was hit by a falling tree, Suffolk County Police said.

The car was parked on Arista Drive when the tree fell at around 2 p.m., police said.

The woman, who was struck by branches, was taken to Huntington Hospital, police said.

It was unknown whether the accident was related to gusty winds on Long Island Monday.
