Woman killed in Deer Park accident

A 29-year-old Levittown woman was struck by a car and killed late Tuesday night on Commack Road in Deer Park, Suffolk County police said.

Lauren Calzolano of Carriage Lane was in the road when police said she was struck by a southbound 2006 Nissan Altima at 10:30 p.m.

She was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, where she was pronounced dead, police said.

The driver, Nicholas Cuiffo, 32, of Central Islip, was not injured in the accident, police said.

Police said his car has been impounded for a safety check, but said he was not charged.

The investigation is continuing. Police are asking anyone with information regarding the accident to contact First Squad detectives at 631-854-8152.
