Woman killed when car flips over in Manorville

A woman was killed when the car she was driving went out of control on a Manorville road Wednesday and flipped over several times before coming to rest in the opposite lane of traffic, police said.

The car was traveling on County Road 111, north of County Road 51 at 6:10 p.m., when the accident occurred, Suffolk police said.

The northbound car went into the road's median, police said, and after flipping ended up in the southbound lane.

The woman, whose name was not released pending notification of family, was transported from the accident scene to Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead where she was pronounced dead, police said.
