Woman sought in West Babylon bank robbery, police say
Suffolk police are looking for a 5-foot-tall woman who robbed a West Babylon bank Thursday afternoon.
Police said the woman walked into the HSBC Bank at 85 Rte. 109 about 3:15 p.m. and showed the teller a note demanding cash. The teller complied and gave the woman an undetermined amount of cash, police said. The robber then fled on foot, heading north through the parking lot.
Police said the robber is further described as having a medium build, being between 30 and 35 years old with light brown hair, and wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt with a baseball cap and sunglasses.
The investigation is continuing, and detectives ask anyone with information on this robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
