Woman stole pug puppy, police say

She walked into the Yipity Yap pet store on Sunday, stuffed a purebred pug puppy into her purse and walked out, Suffolk County police said.
Now, detectives are hoping you can help them catch the dog-snatcher -- and they're asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS in an effort to find the woman and the pug.
Police said the incident occurred at the store on East Jericho Turnpike in Huntington at about 1:30 p.m. Sunday.
Video surveillance footage shows the suspected puppy pincher with her oversized bag. The pup is valued at $1,800.
Police said that all calls will remain confidential and that callers are eligible for a cash reward of up to $5,000 for any information leading to an arrest.
