Driver of work van, Matthew Schneider, of Selden, killed in crash in Holbrook

The driver of a work van killed early Tuesday morning in a single-vehicle crash in Holbrook has been identified as Matthew Schneider, 26, of Selden, Suffolk County police said.
Police said Schneider was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Express van east on Express Drive South, the service road for the Long Island Expressway, when the van left the roadway near Maple Avenue, struck a tree and overturned around 3:10 a.m.
The crash was reported in a 911 call more than two hours later by a motorist at 5:28 a.m.
Police said Schneider died at the scene.
The van was impounded for a safety check. Police said Sixth Squad detectives are investigating the crash.
Police ask anyone who might have information about the crash to call detectives at 631-854-8652.
