Wrong-way driver killed in Medford crash, Suffolk police say

A wrong-way driver was killed and another driver was hurt in a crash in Medford Tuesday night, Suffolk police said.
Edward A. Thornlow, 54, of Shirley, was driving a 2014 Cadillac sedan west in the eastbound lanes of Express Drive South when he collided with another vehicle at the intersection with Horseblock Road around 8:38 p.m., police said.
The other vehicle, a 2020 Ford Transit 350, was headed south on Horseblock Road, police said.
Thornlow was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
The driver of the Ford, Christopher J. Samson, 58, of Bayport, was taken to Long Island Community Hospital in Patchogue with minor injuries, police said.
Both vehicles were impounded, police said.
