Wyandanch man shot on North Amityville street

A Wyndanch man was injured in North Amityville Wednesday afternoon after being shot in the abdomen, Suffolk police said.

Cashawn Winbush, 24, was in front of 89 Williams Ave. arguing with four men who were inside a vehicle, when he was shot in the abdomen by one of the men at 4 p.m., police said. The suspects fled after the shooting.

Winbush, 24, was taken to St. Joseph Hospital in Bethpage, then transferred to Nassau University Medical in East Meadow, where he was listed in stable condition, police said.

The four men in the vehicle are described as being in their 20s. The car is a newer black four-door BMW 5 Series model.
