Suffolk police are investigating a Wyandanch shooting that left a Deer Park man injured Sunday morning.

Jermaine Pressley, 38, was shot in the leg during "an altercation with an unknown man," police said in a statement. The incident occurred at about 4:30 a.m. at the corner of Jamaica Avenue and South 20th Street, police said.

Pressley was admitted to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, where he arrived in stable condition, police said.

Police ask that anyone with information about the shooting call the First Squad at 631-854-8138 or CrimeStoppers at 800-220-TIPS. Calls will remain confidential, police said.
