A Yaphank man was convicted Wednesday of predatory sexual assault of a child over the course of three years, the Suffolk District Attorney's office said.
A jury in Riverhead court convicted Wilbur Wright Jr., 46, who now faces 25 years to life in prison when he's sentenced in May, said District Attorney Thomas Spota. The trial lasted three weeks and the jury took less than two days to hand down a decision.
The sexual assaults on the victim, a girl, started in September 2006 when she was 10 years old and lasted until she was 12 in August 2008, DA spokesman Robert Clifford said.
Wright remains held without bail at Suffolk County Jail in Riverhead.
