New Hyde ParkPair hold up gas station

Nassau County police are looking for two men who they say robbed a New Hyde Park gas station at gunpoint early yesterday.

Third Squad detectives said the two men took money from the BP station at 200 Hillsdale Ave. about 5:25 a.m.

Police said a male employee, 31, was in the station when one of the robbers came in and asked to buy a cigar. Police said the man "pretended not to have money and exited the store." A second man with a black handgun then entered and demanded money while the first man remained outside, police said.

The employee turned over an unspecified amount of cash and both men ran west, police said. There were no injuries.

RooseveltTwo sought in store robbery

First Squad detectives are looking for two men who robbed a Roosevelt food mart at gunpoint late Thursday.

Nassau County police said the two took cash from a male employee, 29, at the Quick Stop Food Market, 528 Nassau Rd., about 11:35 p.m.

The two men entered the store with one showing a black handgun, police said. The armed suspect reached over the counter and grabbed the victim's wrist before snatching an undisclosed amount of cash from the register. The two men then ran east on Pennywood Avenue.

Police said there were no injuries. Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-8477. All calls will be kept confidential.
