'Hard Knocks: Offseason' will return in 2027 and feature an entire NFL division
Once Joe Schoen and the Giants face-planted in the inaugural season of “Hard Knocks: Offseason” in 2024 — giving a behind-the-scenes look at the unsuccessful search for a quarterback and the departure of Saquon Barkley — it became nearly impossible to find another team willing to open its doors to the program during that time of year.
An entire division, though, is another story. And that’s what will happen in 2027 when HBO will film and air the second installment of its offseason reality show, this time focusing on four teams rather than just one. The announcement was made on Wednesday.
“Our fans are increasingly interested in how NFL rosters are built, as well as the people who build them,” said Ross Ketover, NFL Films’ senior executive. “With “Hard Knocks: moving to the offseason," we are excited to showcase the tireless work that happens across an entire division, from the moment a season ends to the minute training camp begins.”
There was no indication of which division would be subjected to the show. It probably won’t be the NFC East, though, since that division just participated in the in-season version during the second half of 2025. Still, it’s fun to imagine the Giants and Schoen getting a sequel with a chance to either rehabilitate their image with another offseason swing… or further sully it.
