Shortly after Game 1 ended around 11:15 p.m., NYPD responded to a “disorderly group” at the intersection of West 33rd Street and 7th Avenue as a large crowd of Knicks fans celebrated the team’s win.

Fans by the thousands had gathered at the sold-out Madison Square Garden to watch the streamed game at surrounding viewing parties, Newsday reported. After the win, fans decked in blue and orange poured onto a packed 7th Avenue and were seen jumping and cheering.

As officers “were on scene and maintained crowd control," seven individuals were taken into custody – five of whom were released on criminal court summonses and two who were arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.
