Junior
Barrett topped of a great season in the 110 high hurdles with a Federation in a career-best and school-record time of 14.14 seconds. He easily emerged as the island’s top hurdler, winning the Suffolk qualifier and taking home the 110 hurdle race at the St. Anthony’s Invitational.

Senior
English’s career really took off the season. The senior set the track world on fire after clearing 7-feet in the high jump at the Bob Pratt Invitational. And he wasn’t just a flash in the pan. English cleared 6-9 two days before jumping 7-feet and took home the NYSPHSAA Division I title after jumping 6-8.

DARNELLE MICKENS
Westbury

Senior
Mickens emerged as Long Island’s top sprinter as he took home Nassau County Class AA titles in the 100 and 200-meter dashes. He followed that up with a Federation title in the 200-meter dash in 21.52 seconds.

MICHAEL SMITH
Riverhead

Senior
Smith wrapped up his career in fine fashion as he took home the shot put Federation title with a toss of 58-8 ¼. He came up big at several big meets, including the St. Anthony’s Invitational, winning the shot put with a toss of 57-10. He was also Suffolk’s best discus thrower, winning the state qualifier with a throw of 157-4.

JUSTIN WILLIAMS
Longwood

Senior
Williams (left) highlighted his season at the state meet as he captured the Federation title with a leap of 47-10 ¾. He got the crowd going at the state meet when he jumped a career-high 50-feet in the Division I Final. Williams was also an accomplished high jumper and won the Suffolk qualifier with a leap of 6-6.

Longwood

In addition to leading Longwood to an undefeated League I season and the Suffolk Division I title, Reilly’s team had three individuals and two relay teams qualify for the state championships.

West Babylon, Senior
The pentathlon is easily the most grueling event of track and field. Fontaine mastered it and won the Federation title in grand fashion. Fontaine won two of the five events at the Federation, including the high jump with a career-high leap of 6-9. And he wasn’t just a one-hit wonder. Fontaine won four of five pentathlon events at the Suffolk qualifier and finished 290 points ahead of the second-place finisher.

Garden City
Cuzzo has helped mold a talented group of girls into Long Island’s top relay program. In addition to capturing the Nassau 4x800 and 4x400 championships, the Trojans won the Federation 4x800 and 4x400 titles.
