Eight people were injured, including five special needs children, when a school bus overturned from a collision with a taxi Monday morning, officials said.

According to officials, an SUV taxi slammed into the bus at 6:24 a.m. on 150th Street in Briarwood. One adult suffered a serious head injury, according to an FDNY spokesman, and two other adults and five children had minor injuries. None of the victims were identified.

The children, ranging from 8 to 10 years old, were taken to Jamaica Hospital.

Police were investigating the wreck at press time, and there were no arrests, an NYPD spokesman said. One witness told NY1 than the taxi driver, who was unidentified, was talking on his cell phone before the collision.
