Rest in peace, Ed Lowe ["Farewell to LI's favorite storyteller," News, Jan. 16]. I read your stories for years in Newsday. They sometimes made me laugh, and almost always made me cry. You touched my heart and my soul through your writing.

Ed Lowe's columns were always something I looked forward to reading. I always enjoyed his writing - he was an everyman writing about things in a way that we could all relate to. Simple, funny, poignant. We have lost a treasure. Rest in peace, Ed, but know you have left your mark.

So Ed Lowe gets to the pearly gates and a waiting St. Peter says, "Hey, I have this interesting story about my relationship with the big guy ..."
Ed takes out his trusty pad and begins to write. And so it goes.
Thanks Ed, rest in peace.
