Artist Lake in Middle Island, above, could get some upgrades under plan filed with the Town of Brookhaven by developer Wilbur Breslin.
Breslin, better known as Willy, is proposing a mix of housing and commercial property for the long-vacant Kmart property across the street.
The North Shore Sun reported Breslin filed plans for the project June 1. It includes “a mix of housing and commercial development with two large rain gardens and seven small free-standing buildings.” The perks for Artist Lake include dock facilities and a pedestrian walkway.
