Alex Rodriguez, coming off a season-long suspension in 2014, played his first game of the spring in the field yesterday, starting at third base and batting fifth.

And just like after his first two games at designated hitter, A-Rod, who had just one ball hit his way in yesterday's 3-2 victory over the Nationals, brought more humor more than analysis.

"Not necessarily," he said with a smile when asked if he would have preferred more chances in the field over his five innings, in which he went 1-for-2 at the plate, the hit a bloop double in the second. "But I'm glad I did get the first one out of the way."
