Duties: District Court judges have jurisdiction over misdemeanor crimes, town ordinances, landlord-

tenant cases, other civil actions up to $15,000 and small-claims and commercial claims cases up to $5,000. They preside at arraignment courts for all charges, except those made in grand-jury indictments.
