HOLLYWOOD LAMPOON It just took the rest of us a while to catch on/up to "Action" (Saturday 5 and 5:30 a.m., IFC), the Fox network's slick 1999 showbiz satire starring Jay Mohr as a pompous producer, with Illeana Douglas as his hooker assistant. Its half-season run gets a DVR-timed encore, starting Saturday and continuing Tuesday-Saturday mornings at the same time(s) through all 13 episodes. Pilot peek on YouTube.
THE ULTIMATE REALITY SERIES Or would be if it could somehow shoehorn Honey Boo Boo into the title. It does merge two of the genre's big draws in its title: "Swamp Pawn" (Saturday at 10 p.m., CMT) follows a Louisiana clan that sells whatever members manage to bag down in the bayou. AWARDS ALERT Dick Van Dyke gets the life achievement award at the live "19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards" (Sunday 8-10 p.m., TNT/TBS); red carpet coverage at 6 on E! and Reelz. MONSTER SQUID Yes, yes, we know, you've heard it before. There was even that Peter Benchley miniseries. But when Discovery Channel and Japan's NHK network say it's real? You gotta believe in "Monster Squid"(Sunday at 8 p.m., Discovery). The "Curiosity" series' season finale promises "razor-toothed suckers and eyes the size of dinner plates." They found the deep-dweller thanks to 285 hours in the abyss through 55 sub dives. "This is the first ever footage of a live giant squid in its natural habitat and a significant contribution to science," they say. Decide for yourself here.
TALENT FROM PARENTS TO PUPS Mexican singer-actress Daniela Romo hosts "LoQue Más Quieres" (Sunday at 8 p.m., Univision/41), where families support the vocal dreams of one of their own. "Who Let the Dogs Out" (Friday at 1 and 1:30 p.m., Hallmark) ranges far and wide for smart working dogs, skateboarding canines and other cool pups. Meet some at wltdo.tv.
SUPER BOWL STUFF It's staaaarting. NFL Network is pretty much all previous Super Bowl highlights, non-stop, but other channels are getting in on the action, too. "The Talk" (weekdays at 2 p.m., CBS/2) airs live shows this week from New Orleans' French Quarter, with guests including Drew Brees, Craig Ferguson and Vanessa Williams. "Super Bowl Media Day"(Tuesday at 3 p.m., ESPN) covers the media outlets covering the players preparing for next Sunday's San Francisco-Baltimore showdown. "Super Bowl's Greatest Commercials" (Wednesday at 8 p.m., CBS/2) unreels the ads with hosts Boomer Esiason and Aisha Tyler. Adam Richman does the honors on "Super Bowl Tailgate Takeover" (Wednesday at 9 p.m., Travel), checking pre-game eats around the country, as well as creating great tailgates for this year's teams.
