Junior Adam Heidenfelder matched a career high with 17 strikeouts as MacArthur breezed past Calhoun, 9-2, in Nassau Conference AA-III baseball Monday.

Heidenfelder, who fanned 17 of the 18 outs, allowed four hits and two walks. The righthander also struck out 17 in an 8-0 win over Bellmore JFK on March 30.

Tom Kelleher hit two triples and scored twice for MacArthur (8-1).

Freeport 8, Farmingdale 6: Endy Villalona allowed no earned runs in 52/3 innings and went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs for Freeport (6-3) in Conference AA-I. Ricardo Collado was 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI and Brian Duran was 2-for-2 with a run in the win.

Wantagh 9, New Hyde Park 8: Adam Aponte had a walk-off RBI single, scoring Mike Stack in the bottom of the ninth to win it for Wantagh (10-0) in Conference A-I. Aponte was 4-for-5 with three RBIs and Kyle Fagan was 2-for-3 with two RBIs in the win.Plainedge 8, Roslyn 0: Anthony Pensato tossed a one-hitter with a walk and three strikeouts for Plainedge (8-1) in Conference A-II. Evan Hirshbaum was 3-for-4 with two runs scored in the win.

Comsewogue 7, Deer Park 0: Tom Scarpinato had a homer and two RBIs at the plate and on the mound he struck out five and walked three in a two-hitter to lead Comsewogue (5-5) in Suffolk League V. Dan Colasanto went 3-for-4, including a double and two runs scored.

Hampton Bays 2, Port Jefferson 1: Ryan Schultheis and Tim Frost each scored on errors in the bottom of the sixth to lift Hampton Bays (1-9) in League VIII. Schultheis allowed five hits, walked two and struck out five in a complete game.

SOFTBALL

Division 3, New Hyde Park 0: Justine Jean pitched a two-hitter with 11 strikeouts and six walks for Division (6-1) in Conference ABC-II. Darien Caputo had two hits and an RBI in the win.

East Rockaway 13, Valley Stream South 10: Caitlin O'Mara hit a two-run home run during an eight-run fifth as East Rockaway (8-0) took a 12-6 lead in Conference ABC-IV. Gina Skelly hit a solo home run to lead off the sixth to make it 13-6. Jessica Cerasoli went 5-for-5 with three runs scored in the win.

Huntington 3, East Hampton 0: Beth Coneys hit a two-run single in the sixth inning to give Huntington (4-5) a 3-0 lead in a Suffolk League IV/V crossover game. Kaitlin Wascher ran down a fly ball with two outs in the fourth to save two runs and preserve a 1-0 lead. Ellen Byrnes tossed a three-hitter with nine strikeouts.

Bay Shore 4, Longwood 1: Alex Passante had a run-scoring single and Sarah Edwards added an RBI on a squeeze bunt in the fourth to give Bay Shore (8-1) a 2-0 lead in a Suffolk League I/II game. Michelle DeVito struck out five in a three-hitter for the win.

Connetquot 12, Brentwood 1: Eighth-grader Sarah McKeveney pitched a one-hitter with four walks and 12 strikeouts in her first varsity start for Connetquot (7-2) in a League I/II game. Sirinda Arturi went 3-for-4 with a run and Victoria Swaine had a double and three RBIs in the win.

Kellenberg 4, St. Anthony's 0: Sabrina DeAngelis pitched a two-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts and four walks for Kellenberg (7-1) in a CHSAA game. Cristen Whigham was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Amy Quinn was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run.
