Adelphi's roster of champions

D Courtney Acker, Soph.,Bayport-Blue Point. Playing in 16 games, Acker scooped up 33 ground balls and caused 21 turnovers.

D Nicole Bass, Jr.,Commack. In limited action, Bass tallied two assists, had seven ground balls, won four draws (faceoffs) and caused four turnovers.

D Jackie Bogensberger, Sr.,Valley Stream Central. Steady performer who caused 28 turnovers, had 39 ground balls and won five draws.

M/GK Cathryn Bonitz, Fr.,Towson (Md.). Played in 10 games and had three ground balls. Could be starting goalie next season.

M Arielle Burke, Soph., Milton Wright (Md). A nursing major, appeared in 12 games and scored one goal to go along with seven ground balls.

M Holly Burke, Sr.,Milton Wright (Md). Sister of Arielle, had another nice year with 16 goals on only 28 shots. She also won a team-high 54 draws and created 19 turnovers. Majoring in business.

M Kaitlyn Carter, Jr.,Mineola. She had 30 goals and 17 assists, won 19 draws and had 25 ground balls. Scored five goals against in title game.

A Michelle Ceraso, Jr.,Kellenberg. Scored 30 goals on 62 shots in 13 games. First-team All-American as a sophomore. M Demmianne Cook, Fr.,Smithtown East. First-team All-American. The ECAC rookie of the year scored 52 goals and had 23 assists. She also won 47 draws and had 59 ground balls. Scored five goals against C.W. Post in national semifinal. A Erica Devito, Soph.,Shoreham-Wading River. Second- team All-American. Another big year with 60 goals and 23 assists to finish third on the team in scoring with 83 points. Scored five goals in title game.

M Elizabeth Fey, Jr., Kings Park. First-team All-American. Transferred from Duquesne and had monster year with 60 goals and 24 assists. Was second in scoring with 84 points.

G Caitlin Fitzpatrick, Sr., Port Washington. Three-time All-American. Played in 20 games and had a .681 save percentage. Active in the Port Washington fire department.

M Lauren Fox, Soph., Holy Trinity. Limited to two games because of injury. Picked up two ground balls and caused one turnover.

A Brittany Fronczak, Sr., Milton Wright (Md.). Played in nine games and had one goal and two assists. Caused four turnovers. Nursing major.

A Tara Gangarossa, Soph., Farmingdale. Nice second-year player who made her presence known with four goals, three assists, 22 ground balls and 19 caused turnovers.

M/A Alison Incarnato, Sr., Sachem North. Transferred from Temple and played in 19 games with five goals, nine assists and 12 ground balls. Won 11 draws.

D Kristin Jones, Jr., St. Anthony's. First-team All-American. Caused 38 turnovers and picked up team-leading 62 ground balls in 20 games.

A Danielle Kafarski, Sr., Comsewogue. Her strong contributions resulted in 14 goals, 16 ground balls and six caused turnovers.

D Lindsay Kane, Sr., Franklin High (Md.). Playing in only 11 games, Kane scored a goal, had six ground balls, won six draws and caused two turnovers. Majoring in physical therapy.

A Alyssa LaBosco, Sr., Massapequa. In her final season, LaBosco played in 12 games and scored five goals, giving her 17 for her career.

D Nicole Liebermann, Sr., Shoreham-Wading River. Former All-County performer in high school, Liebermann had 11 ground balls and caused seven turnovers.

D Stacey McPartland, GS., Farmingdale. Transfer from Delaware, where she was 2009 rookie of the year in the Colonial Athletic Association. Won 13 draws, caused six turnovers.

M Marissa Mills, Soph., Islip. Had 49 goals, 13 assists, 37 ground balls and 28 winning draws. Scored three goals in title game vs. West Chester.

M Claire Peterson, Soph., Wantagh. First-team All-American. Transfer from Catholic University, the ECAC offensive player of the year, Peterson had 47 goals and 81 assists to lead the team - and nation - with 128 points. She added 59 ground balls and caused 20 turnovers.

M Corinne Pingitore, Sr., Jackson Memorial (N.J.). In 19 games, Pingitore scored 11 goals, won 12 draws and picked up 23 ground balls.

A Sara Sangiorgio, Fr., West Islip. Scored four goals on only six shots in 10 games. All-Long Island in high school.

A Alison Staudt, Soph., Rocky Point. Former top racewalker in high school, Staudt scored four goals and had 15 assists in 15 games.

M Allison Tumulty, Sr., Rocky Point. Finished career with eight goals on only 11 shots. Also caused nine turnovers.

M Kristina Wargo. Jr., Hicksville. Transfer from Molloy had big impact with 12 goals, six assists, 21 ground balls, 19 draws and 14 caused turnovers.

D Mariel Wenzel, Jr., St. John the Baptist. Saw action in 15 games and had 16 ground balls and 14 caused turnovers. Life guard at Jones Beach.

D Lindsay Whitfield, Soph., MacArthur. Played seven games and caused two turnovers.

D Joanna Zahra, Sr., Connetquot. Finished her final season with a goal, an assist and 12 ground balls.

Coach Joe Spallina. Improved three-year Adelphi record to 56-2. Was big winner at Rocky Point (87-9), where team won three Suffolk titles in his 10 seasons. Captains refer to him as "dynamic intense, mastermind, perfectionist."
