David Perrotto, a junior at Adelphi University, wore a suit and tie to volunteer at his first presidential debate on Tuesday.

"I'm pro-Romney because his campaign supports the natural competitiveness of human beings and I'm also religious, so I'm in favor of his pro-life stance," said Perrotto, 21, of Merrick.

His said his interest in history propels him to research the candidates and make his own decision of who to vote for.

"I find this whole day interesting," he said. "It's invigorating being a part of a debate like this."
