After budget failure, Herricks board meets tonight
Two days after its budget was shot down by a single vote, Herricks Union Free School District is set to hold was is likely to be a contentious board meeting tonight.
Board president Richard Buckley told Newsday the failure of the proposed $97,373,015 budget, with 1,728 votes in favor vs. 1,729 against, is evidence of a "divided community.” The board must now decide whether to scale it back.
The Herricks budget was one of 10 to fail Islandwide.
The meeting starts at 7:15 p.m. at the Herricks Community Center, 999 Herricks Road, New Hyde Park.
