WWE Diva AJ Lee, the real-life wife of former WWE Superstar-turned-UFC signee CM Punk, has retired from in-ring competition, according to WWE.com.

"We wish AJ the very best," WWE.com posted on its website Friday afternoon announcing the retirement.

WWE mentioned AJ's real name, April Mendez, in the post, consistent with the protocol of an actual departure and not part of a wrestling storyline.

She wrestled Sunday at WrestleMania 31 with Paige against the Bella Twins.

Punk is currently being sued by WWE's Dr. Chris Amann for defamation over comments Punk made in a podcast over his medical treatment while with the company. Amann is also suing Punk's friend and fellow pro wrestler Colt Cobana, host of the podcast.
