Some of the names considered inner-circle advisers in Andrew Cuomo's campaign for governor were Albany fixtures when his father, Mario Cuomo, held the post, including Drew Zambelli, once chief of staff, and Michael DelGiudice, who was secretary to the former governor. Others are currently with the attorney general's office, such as chief of staff Steven Cohen and deputy Benjamin Lawsky, as well as assistant Joseph Percoco. Press officers have been gathered from other Democratic offices: Phil Singer was a spokesman for Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign; Josh Vlasto last worked for Sen. Charles Schumer, and Marissa Shorenstein quit Gov.David A. Paterson's office in a falling-out months ago. On budget issues, Cuomo has Paul Francis, former aide in the short-lived administration of Gov.Eliot Spitzer.
