As much as Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo tries to keep Democratic challenger Zephyr Teachout at bay, she keeps coming at him. Last week she beat the lawsuit to knock her off the September primary ballot. Then the Public Employees Federation, the second-largest state public-employee union, endorsed her. And she broke a bit of new ground by doing an online "Ask Me Anything" session on Reddit.

Cuomo, meanwhile, took a president-like trip to Israel to affirm New York's solidarity with that nation and avoided even talking about Teachout's calls for debates. "The governor and his old-boys club better watch out," Teachout's campaign manager Mike Boland said. "This challenge is serious and it isn't going away."-- Michael Gormley
